12-29 Update

We received word that the road to the summit and the parking lot were aggressively plowed today, and that, so far, parking is plentiful.

Also, all of the basin roads are groomed now.

Shaping up for a pretty good holiday!

Christmas Day Grooming Update

According to Ken Prince, the groomer arrived back at Bucks on Monday, and immediately went to work. All of the basin was done, but not to the Highlands or out to 4 Trees. However, today all that is buried, and they are starting over. I don’t know if Plumas County is plowing the summit road. Since all of Plumas County is getting hit, the Bucks Lake road may be a low prioirty.

Back In The U.S.

We are back from our Germany trip, but will be in Reno until the 30th. It appears the internet link at the cabin keeps getting knocked out by snow. We have a heater on the dish, but those of you familiar with Bucks in the winter know how it snows there. Still, the heater catches up after a day, or so. Once up there, we keep the dish clean, sometimes every 15 minutes. Looking at the web cam my guess is about 3 feet. That could be 5 by tomorrow afternoon.

Sandy Ward has announced that the 2nd Edition Bucks Lake Cookbook is now available. Her email is:couponclippermom@hotmail.com . 2nd edition price is $12. 1st editions are still available at $8.00.

I understand the groomer was returned to the mountain on Monday and is running now. I’m trying to confirm that and get the latest information. When I get it, I’ll put it up here.

Winter at Bucks

I want to remind everyone that we will be out of the country from Dec. 8 through Dec 23. During that time, if anything goes wrong, well, that is it. We will attempt to fix it on our return.

The good news is we plan to have a number of pictures to post here when we return.
