PHONES

Those of you not at the annual meeting last Saturday missed an earthquake…..

Mike Donald, the FS District Ranger, announced the Forest Service will now permit a phone project to serve all the areas of the lake that do not now have phone service with an overhead system. That means we can now afford the project within the line extension allowances required by California regulators.

Wow!

The light at the end of a 20 year tunnel. I sure hope it’s not a train…….

Caveats: Individual cabin service drops will be under ground at cabin owner expense. This will not happen over night. I am compiling Forest Service, Plumas County, and HOA documents to support the project.  Then we will contact ATT engineering in Chico. They have been reluctant to tackle this project, but PUC regulations don’t allow them to pick and choose. But they can obfuscate. We will be asking for cabin owner support as we move forward.

Of course, people who don’t want a phone don’t have to join in, but back in the early 90’s, over 300 cabins signed three year contracts. I think the support is there.

I BET YOU HAVE ANTS……

Doesn’t everyone at the lake? Anyway, here’s the deal. We all know Brian Wood (Woody) who owns Lakeridge Pest Control, as he does just about every cabin at the lake. Brian has had a problem with the phone company, and only has his cell phone at the moment. So, here is that number:

530-519-4861

Brian is here now and working his way around the lake, but if you need to talk to him now you have his number.

We went to the dam today. One board is up and the lake is spilling down the spillway. It’s been years since that happened.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

First, the Fire Department Pancake Breakfast will take place tomorrow, Sunday, at the Fire House, from 8 to 11.

Second, the annual Homeowners Association meeting is scheduled for Saturday, July 9 at the Haskins Inn area. Registration starts at 8:30.

And, yes, we have changed the camera view. The PG&E logging crew has dropped so many trees around us that we are trying this view where we could not even see the lake before.
